Of course, they would make the deposit be $50 (the same as $25/hour to rent it)

The last area I lived in had a small club house that could be "rented". It required a $250 deposit that was returned when the keys were turned back in if the club house was left in the original condition.

this doesnt surprise me. When we reserved one of the meeting rooms for the pee wee cooking clun ( a daybreak kids cooking club) they asked for a $50 deposit from me. I have paid deposits before to reserve the parks pavilions, and I am fine with that. But then I noticed that my check had been cashed. I called Courtney and she said "well the room has to be rented". Not when its a daybreak club using it. then its free. That is what Tina told me. All in all, I got my money back, but I will NEVER give them another "deposit" for the room. It always seems to get put in the wrong drawer! The meeting rooms are nice. And I think there should only be a deposit instead of a fee. Just another way for them to take our money.

I think its funny that people are so amazed that our HOA fees are lower than most communities considered what all we get for it, but then you start adding up where they get us, and man it adds up! I thought the benefit of having a community center was that we'd get to enjoy it without paying extra (assuming we don't trash it that is!). I can't believe they tried charging a daybreak club for its use!
