I'm surprised to hear they actually replaced it! My father-in-law worked for the church (specifically the Jordan River Temple) for a number of years and my husband recalls watching them re-leaf an Angel Moroni that had got struck by lightening when he was a child. I wonder if they just have a spare for when this happens or if they've changed the process... Either way, thanks for sharing your pictures!

Last I had heard, they brought in a new one for this temple and they are going to refinish the burnt one and use it for another temple in the future.

We were heading over to harmons when we found ourselves right next to the old moroni on 11400 sitting at the stop light. My daughter looks out the window and gasps "now thats not something you see everyday, holy cow I can see up his dress thing". I love kids.... got some cool pictures of it om my phone...... it was pretty interesting seeing it burnt up close!!
