Vegetable Garden Restrictions 15 Years, 2 Months ago

Hello again.
I am getting closer to moving to Daybreak, and my wife wants to know about backyard gardening. Currently we have a small, but fruitful (no pun intended) vegetable garden in our back yard. It's about 50 square feet in size. Are there any restrictions in Daybreak about growing such a garden in one's own back yard? I know there are approvals required for landscaping changes in the backyard, and I also know that common garden plots are available for a fee. This leads me to believe that there may be restrictions on vegetable gardens on one's own property.
Thoughts?

I remember when I first started looking into Daybreak I had heard a rumor that "no gardens" were allowed but when I check with the information pavillion they said that it was just one of the many rumors.
I do know that Vegtable Gardens are allowed in single family homes with normal size yards. I have a Destination home in Eastlake Village and had no problem getting my three garden plots in my backyard approved and I know other people that have gardens as well.
If you are buying a townhome, mansion home, or a single family home that is on a small lot (Holmes Homes, cottage homes, etc.) you may want to call the HOA and make sure they don't have any restrictions concerning yard use.

We had our own very fruitful garden in our backyard last year also. It looks great, the kids had a ton of fun, and it did very well in Utah's hot and sunny climate. I installed a soaker hose on a timer to minimize water usage and it worked great. Come to think of it, most of the houses on our street have backyard gardens. Just make sure to include it in any landscape proposal you submitt.
Welcome (almost) to Daybreak! You are going to love it here.
