The Dusk to Dawn signs are for fishing, nothing else! (Unless new signs have been put up in the last two days.)

The signs do say "Oquirrh Lake Fishing Area", but no where on the signs does is say that the Dawn to Dusk hours are for fishing only. The whole area is closed after dusk. It is obviously open to interpretation, and since Kennecott owns the lake, not you and I, it is only their interpretation that matters.

Again, the security gaurd was way out of line. But since the homeowners around the lake asked for increased security and enforcement of the rules, it is a conundrum. Who do you make happy. How do you determine who is there with no ill intent or isn't infringing on the residents closest to the lake. Do you ask the security guards to start profiling? It appears no one will be happy with the way the lake is handled. You have people on one side saying it is my right to use the lake whenever and however I want as a homeowner. And homeowners that are tired of the things going on at the lake that aren't on the up and up on the other side.

Glad I don't live by the lake. Not sure who will want to pay the premium on those "luxury" lots directly across the street. You couldn't pay me to build a house there....

I just finished taking pictures of all sighs on the lake this morning. If you'd like a copy let me know. The sign you refer to says:

OQUIRRH LAKE
DESIGNATED FISHING AREA
Hours:
Dawn to Dusk
Catch and Keep
Limit 4 per person

Now if that is suppost to mean the whole area is closed after dusk I need to sign up for sign interpretation.

Please stay out of the lake and do not fish after dark. Walking on the trails seems to be OK, legally, lacking any NO TRESPASSING signs.

Love the sign mentality, hereabouts. Someday, go to the landfill. Prior to all of the signs on the way in (you know, No firearms, No scavenging, etc.) there's a sign that says, "Beware of signs". Now, this isn't just one instance of a guy who can't spell "Be aware of signs", the original "Beware of Signs" sign was stolen (I wonder why!) and it was replaced with the current one. Must be a Kennecott connection somewhere, there.
