Street Parking 13 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 1
Does anyone know if there are any HOA rules or city ordinances regarding street parking. Driving through Eastlake especially on Indigo Sky in the morning is an obsticle coarse. Cars parked on both sides of a narrow street with continual two way traffic and construction equipement make it's a navigational nightmare.

Parents please make sure that your kid's use cross walks. I am always looking out for kid's darting out from in front of a parked car.

Any ideas? or do I just have to live with it?

Parking is a city issue. I don't know of any city regulations for parking during the non-winter months. You may want to contact the city and see if they will put up no parking signs on one side of the street like they have done along Eastlake Beach.

The HOA has rules about parking of over-weight vehicles, trailers, RV's, etc. but they really don't care. They don't enforce them, generally, and refer everyone to the city. The HOA likes the cramped parking and the Board of Directors will tell you that it is intended to slow down traffic.
I've almost struck children, many times...where are the parents?

Believe it or not, it really is intended to slow down traffic. Wide open roads statistically cause speeding because of the high comfort level people have from it. That being said, the no parking regulations were started because you couldn't make it down the street it was so tight! They enforced the rules 1 winter really heavily, most of the tickets were dropped and haven't seemed to really mess with it since unless somebody made a call to the cops on it. I think calling the cops is the best bet to get anything (ahem, within reason of course!) resolved.

It would also be nice if everyone used their garage, since that is what it's there for.

Littleash- don't be silly! Garages aren't for storing cars they are for storing stuff! (And I do mean this sarcasticly)

I think there is a message thread somewhere on here about how the on steet parking is the fault of the home builders for not building the garages big enouhg for cars and "stuff".
