We just moved here recently. We've noticed a smell in the air one or two nights a week. It smells like garbage or bad mulch. I took a tour of the Jordan Landfill and they insist it is not them. The landfill mentioned a prior smell that was caused by their compost system, but that was recently closed down. They told me the smell is coming from a company northward called ET or Environmental Technologies. I found this recent article:
http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=15956618 Can this smell get as far south as Daybreak? I called the HOA and they said they hadn't heard anything recently. The HOA said they would check into it and call me back. I haven't heard anything from them yet. I also called Rio Tinto and asked about it. They did call me back and said there was a possibility it was coming from the landfill, or farmland, or a number of other things. The Rio Tinto spokesperson said they checked back on the call logs and I was the only person calling and asking about the smell. Does anyone else have any information on this? Can anything be done about it?
